Who do you want to be?
I spent a long time stuck in the service industry. I have no regrets about that, I definitely learned a lot, put myself through school, had some
really amazing networking opportunites, and made some amazing friends- but I felt completely stuck. I would try to leave, I've had four Last Day of Bartending bashes, but my student loans (a.k.a the-I-can't-be-successful-if-I'm-in debt-fear), boyfriend issues, a dirty house, or any other thing seemed to be blocking me from being able to leave.
I worked at a fabulous restaurant with fabulous clientele in Manhattan's East Village. Every night I would see beautiful women coming in in fabulous little Chanel sweaters and Miu Miu shoes, Maje leather jackets and Junya Watanabe purses. I was so jealous of them, sitting down, ordering oysters or wine, just off of work at their fabulous jobs, kicking back with their girlfriends. There seemed to be this sweeping divide between where they were and where I wanted to be, and I couldn't even begin to make the first step!
My glimmer of hope came finally when my Ayurveda teacher (Robyn Youkilis) was describing her job as a Health Coach to me and I said "OMG you have my dream job." and she looked right at me with this epic smile and said "It can be your dream job too!".
No one had ever told me that I could have it too. Since then, as I've made a career for myself studying successful women and coaching women into their own successes, I've realized something all my role model women have had in common this whole time.
They dug deep and found what their unique gift was, and had the courage to share it with the world.
As I built my business over the next five years, I would imagine at work what kind of fabulous woman I wanted to be.
I dreamed of going to a chic little restaurant on a Friday night, early, alone. No phone, no man, maybe a book, maybe my journal, maybe not. Over time my dreamy drink order would change, from from an Aperol Negroni, to a fabulous wine, to sparkling water, my drink of choice now. I dreamed of having multiple forms of currency in my wallet. A jetsetter. I dreamed of having Good Hair, a good manicure, a big smile, and being there purely to enjoy myself. Appetizer, entree, and dessert. Espresso. A woman who got what she wanted and didn't order to be cheap. A woman who valued herself enough to treat herself excellently. I wanted to be a woman who people asked "what do you do?" and I wanted to share with them that I just kept trying, didn't take no for an answer, and now was living a fabulous life, and that yes, you can too.
This dream got me through many a shift, and I'm proud to say that one night a week (even though I've been a little bad about it here in Budapest), I take myself out now and allow myself to be this woman I dreamed of becoming one day!
I'm on this earth to help my fellow entrepreneurial sisters bring more visibility to what it means to be an empowered woman. To let all the little girls, and the the struggling women see that anything is possible. You can do anything you want! It doesn't matter if you didn't graduate from High School, or you're covered in tattoos, or you've never done anything like this before. If you can dream it, you can do it. All you have to do is dig deep, recognize your unique gifts, and have the courage to share them with the world.
I have very (like VERY) limited space available in my 1:1 VIP Coaching program. It's my baby, my bestseller, and it means so much to me to share it with the world. Are you that somebody? email@example.com to set up a free session to see how coaching would work for you. Get more info HERE
